Hello everyone in the chat! I’m heading to a major design conference at the IFEMA Exhibition Center next week; I’ll be staying at a nearby hotel, but my return flight leaves very late from Terminal T4. Since I’ll have free time from the morning after checking out of the hotel until late in the evening, I’d like to visit the Malasaña neighborhood to check out the local art galleries and relax in some cozy cafes.
Does it make sense to take Metro Line 8 to the city center with transfers, or is it better to call an Uber, considering I’ll be traveling with a small wheeled suitcase? And if I’m heading to the airport from downtown in the evening, which metro station should I aim for to exit directly at Terminal 4 and avoid accidentally ending up at the earlier terminals?
When it comes to transportation, I can say that Metro Line 8 is truly the most convenient and fastest option since it connects the exhibition center and the airport to the Nuevos Ministerios hub station. And wheeled suitcases are not a problem on the metro - there are elevators and escalators everywhere. When I was figuring out the lines and stops, I used the Madrid International Airport (MAD) guide, which explains that Line 8 has separate stations for Terminals T1, T2, and T3 and a terminal station for T4. You definitely won't get confused and will exit right next to your terminal. Do you plan to buy metro tickets from a vending machine, or will you get a MultiCard?
