Opal and Goldie here! We continue to push the boundaries of feline knowledge with carefully designed experiments. We have tested wind velocity on fur. We found no difference between short and sleek and short and plush. We attempted to recruit the neighbour cat, Tag as she is a longhair, but she only hissed at us. She even cornered Goldie in the sewing room! (ok ok...Goldie technically was trespassing and was in Tag's house, but really!)
Opal tested sleek short fur's ability to repel pond water. This experiment did not have good results, but she did not fall into the pond, no matter what the neighbour says. She was conducting important experimental work!
It is I, Ella the search and rescue director! I once was attacked by a great monster in the water. I barely escaped with my life, and am now forever diligent about all things humans float in. How did you escape? I need to know to to add to my checklist!

Opal here. I have great spring in my back legs (from all my work on suborbital flight). I sprang from the pond, and caught the rocks around the pond. I am no longer sure fur can repel any form of liquid, I have tested: toilet water (clean), cake batter and now pond water.
I did not Larry! It was a great tentacle monster that grabbed me and pulled me in while I was watching mama float and worrying that something would happen and no one would feed me.
mama says I was running around like a maniacal kitten and I fell in. But I not clumsy and kittens cannot be maniacally. Humans can’t always see the monsters that grab you and pull you into the water.
Mama got me a shark bed though. I brave to go into its mouth, it has great big teeth. But it so very warm and comfy.
